So like th title states I just upgrades my 13 street glides speakers with a clarion xc1410 amp and some arc audio 6.5's. Got everything wired up but after taking the bike out the speakers sound worse then before and are super distorted at half volume and above. So bad that I could barely turn the volume over 1/3 of the way up until the distortion began unlike the factory unit. Could I have wired something wrong or do I need to make adjustments on the amp setting to a lower frequency. I was just looking for some clearer and louder on the highway as I listen to some heavy fast metal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What kind of head unit do you have? Do you have all of your settings at zero?
Factory hk head unit and yes I tried to put both base and treble at 0 but still no good
Hmmm....well, I dont have any experience with that amp or speaker combo. Someone here may have experience with that. I dont want to make recommendations on something that I dont have experience working with. Im leaning towards you changing out the head unit (the HK units are exposed for how weak they are when you upgrade your system). But lets see what others recommend first.

When ever I run into a problem like that the first thing I do is reference the Ultranutz sticky on top of the page to make sure I have all the connections wired correctly. Has not failed me yet. Once I'm confident there are no loose connections and the components are wired properly. Then I start looking at the components. Basically you have the stock head unit with a 50 x 4 amp pushing two four ohm arc audio speakers. Should it sound better than stock? YES Is it going to knock your socks off at speed? NO.
I would start with the Ultranutz sticky my friend. If you still have an Issue PM Nutz. That's my .02
