Default Bt4180

Does anyone know what gauge power/ground and speaker wire the BT4180 will accept? I currently have 8 gauge power/ground and 16 gauge speaker wire with my SS amp. I am considering taking the plunge to the BT4180 as the 7.1 pros are wanting a lil more juice.

The BT 4180 will accept 16 ga. speaker wire, (spring loaded terminals). It comes with power wire and ground wire (10 ga. I think) attached to the terminals, I could not get the power and ground wire to release from terminal block so I just put spade connectors on the exsisting wire and hook them up to my original Hog Tunes wire harness which was already there, was also 10 ga.

If you order from Biketronics directly, talk to Bill. I told him exactly how I was going to run my system and his guys built custom speaker harnesses that made everything plug and play for me. Very nice, and didn't charge me extra. Made it to where I could easily snake the wiring for my lowers through my engine guard, and a harness with quick connects to run my tour pack pods and speaker lids in parallel.

Thanks for the information. The wiring is all installed for the power/ground and speakers (front fairing/rear lid). I was wondering if I would be able to utilize the existing gauge wiring with the 4180.

You'll have to splice it together. You'd never be able to get what you already have into the spring terminal.

Does the 4180 have any holes in it for screwing it down to a piece of plywood? Trying to figure out how to mount one in my tour-pak. When I finally get the 4180 this winter I'm going to buy two of em. One for the fairing and one for the tour-pak so all my speakers have 180 watts going to em. Also looking at the proline 7.1's and the rear speaker kit. But I want to run the prolines in the fairing and the rear pods. Actually I don't even know if that's possible due to the configuration of the Proline speakers. Might just have to go 7.1's.

I don't remember any way of screwing it down. Just velcro'd it to the radio. There's some industrial stuff that grabs really well.

Yeah, there are no screw holes. Have to find a way to stick it to the tour pack liner or trim it and stick it to the pack itself. You could fab a plate up to stick it to and screw the plate to the liner.

I've been kicking the idea around of putting a 2180 in the tour pack for the rear 7.1" pods. Haven't thought it through though. Might even be able to stick it to the lid.

Well there's actually a metal plate under the liner but I would have to cut into my liner about where the Harley emblem is to mount it. That would suck. I think your idea about fabing a plate to mount it on is the best idea I've heard yet. Oh well, I have a few months to think about it. By the way thanks for chiming in Glider!

Gan,That sounds like a KICK AZZ system, amp is small enough to velcro to the back of the tour pack on the vertical surface.
