I installed a Boom harness (see link) in my 2014 FLHXS. Drilled a hold on one of the side covers and surface mounted it. Great spot. The instructions tell you to mount it to the gas tank with double sided tape...yeah right, not a chance!
Problem is now the side cover cannot be removed completely. It dangles by the cord. I want to cut in a quick disconnect plug for proper removal. Does anyone have a source for something like this? Is it even a good idea to add a splice here? Its a communications device and I know CAT 5 cable (for instance) needs to be a home run with no splices......
not at all. the headset I use has just the right amount of cord. so, if it is 6 wires, I select a 6 pin connector, right? there are both nickle and gold ones on ebay. which one is best? how do I select the wire size? anywhere from 14-22 awg available. Thanks for posting.
