Bogging

I have a 2001 wide glide. A few weeks ago I put on a Mikuni 42 mm carb and had the bike running good. But only went for short rides and I always keep a battery tender on it. Last week I went for a 2 hour ride. When we went to leave for lunch my bike wouldn't start. I replaced the battery in the parking lot and was able to make it home. When I got home I checked the voltage on the Battery with the bike running and it was only like 12.2 vdc. So I started by checking the voltage regulator and found that was the problem. So that is fixed now. Now the bike is bogging when I'm rideing and I crack the throttle from half to full. Does this have something to do with jetting since maybe the regulator was bad or going bad when I was jetting it with the new carb?

Sounds to me like you have some jetting changes to make. If it's bogging from 1/2 to wide open, that sounds like your main jet needs to go down a size or more.

What do the plugs look like?
