Default Trick to removing O ring for mixture screw in CV40

Rebuilding a CV40 carb and I did not find a washer behind the spring on the mixture screw. I want to replace the O ring because the spring prop tore it up, Anyway I don't trust the O ring to be OK so I am trying to remove it but it's real tough to get a hold of. Any tricks, I have been trying with a set on Snap On picks but can't get it out.

If your saying the o-ring is up in the bore, I just straighten a paper clip and put a very short *90 degree bend to the end of the paper clip and fish it out of there. Kind of of a probing to grab it.

It can drive you crazy trying to get that o ring out...

A pick with a very slight bend at the end sometimes helps.

I use electric fence wire, soft aluminum, so it won't scratch the needle seat. But, anything will work, be careful and patience.

Got it out, thanks guys for the ideas. I didn't have luck with the paperclip so I went back to the weird looking snapon pick. I can't believe how small that flat washer is. The seat looked ok, got the carb back on today and will fire it up Sat. Thanks again.

Well, just an FYI...it's not supposed to be flat. Probably time for a new O-ring. Glad you got it out!
