Bad starter
Ok fitted straight through pipes
now harder to start takes ,at least 8 tries
upgraded main jet and needle position
883 2006 carb model

pipes should have nothing to do with it.
changing mix is a good idea but sometime not necessary.
look at air mix screw and pilot jet. also adjusting the carb butterfly to cover over another issue will lead to problems.
