Default New needle

I just installed a new needle in my carb, I went with the the Sporty needle, I am just wondering if anyone can tell me how to determine the spacers needed.

I installed the new needle with the spacer that came out with the old needle, which is about 1/16 " the needles were just about the same length with that spacer but the new one was still longer

If you mean washers when you say spacers, the sporty needle doesn't need any washers or spacers. The washers are used with a stock needle to raise it up and enrichen the mixture.

Will the Minton carb setup work on a Keihin 44mm carb or just for the stock 40mm?

that is just for the 40, not the 44; it uses different needles
