I noticed that we have a Shovelhead, Panhead, Flathead, and Knucklehead forums. Why not an Ironhead Forum. We have plenty of members with Ironheads here and in the words of the younger generation; "We need to represent!" LOL.

I was wondering the same thing. Why no Ironhead Forum? I really never though of my bike as being OLD until I went to the stealer for a part as was told my bike was obsolete!

Yes, I would definately like to see articles posted in an Ironhead forum on how to get 100hp out of an Ironhead. Or what carbs and exhaust combinations work the best. It is getting harder and harder to find Ironhead masters as most mechanics now only know the evolution motors and are stabbing at working on Ironheads. I would like to see opinions on dual plugging and porting Ironheads. Does it provide a better burn or is it hype? The list is endless.

Welcome to the World of Iron.

Check your ground and battery conections to be sure they are clean and tight. Then check your starter connections for the same thing. If both are good then I'd use a multi meter and check the switch...the elements may have corroded the internals and finally check the wires for breaks or cracks. Just wiggling the wires may be enough to reveal the weak point.

It sounds like a short or break somewhere...

Thanks Scott.
I been doing a little maintenance and riding, the weather here in Houston is stil good.
I replaced the hot cable to the battery with a number 4 cable and copper terminals, she dint do it for about a week and today again, so am going to do what you say with all the terminals, it has to be a connection, when the starter engages there are no noises and everything is flawless.

will let you al know.
