hello- I have an 04 iron horse tejas. I recieved some good advice on this site about the bike, and i think all the problems will be worked out. Fit and finish...great. s & s motor- great. had several problems with leaks. gas tank was replaced, then it happened again and replaced the petcock. The gauges rarely work right..this is common in AIH. There were a few other minor problems but overall- it looks great and gets lots of attention. keep us posted on your purchase. My opinion, is the Outlaw is my favorite. a few bucks cheaper than slammer, it only needs custom exhaust and forward controls.
I have a 2000 Outlaw 107/6. Longshot view. On the AIH, the tank graphic is hard to see in pictures. The horse w/flames are Chameleon paint Copper/Purple and the purple is prominent in all but the sun.
This is the old design. It runs well, but I f'd up the light chrome when I stored it while doing an out of state job, so I gotta get that fixed. Runs real well. The guys are great there and will do whatever you want and support the bike too (fixing any probs that arise).
I typically ride a passenger around. I'm interested in the following soft tail models:
Slammer
Judge
Bandit
Outlaw
Thunder
Most of what I see is overpriced for a bike that can no longer be readily maintained but if I could get a sissybar and 2up seat fairly easily and at a reasonable cost I might still buy one.
Look at Thunder Mountain. They use Harley motors, trans, electronics, controls, etc. Depending on model they are as much as 80% Harley. Many really look like hardtails but are softail frames.
