RevTech engines are made in Korea. Ultima and S&S are made in America. Ultimas are less expensive and have the reputation of having less vibration than S&S.
I put a Revtech 110" in my Dyna project.......I had problems getting a starter that would turn the engine but I have that issue resolved. Do I like how the motor runs....yes! but I would never buy another one......mainly because of the non-customer service by Custom Chrome.
Nice bike!! Yeah, A couple of guys I spoke with had quite a few problems with Revtech engines & the support they got was zip. They both ended up resolving the issues at their own expense & in all fairness the engines now have some substantial miles on them & have been trouble free. Reason I'm buying from a Brit dealer is all the shipping, import duty & other taxes that I would have to pay are already taken care of & I get a valid guarantee - all I gotta do is pay for it & build it! I should be able to buy the kit around November time& hopefully build the bike thru the winter months - the paint job I'll leave to somebody who knows what their doing.
I had a 113 Ultima, never had a problem, ran strong and had the best polish job of any engine out there. My buddy owns the bike now, got about 5K on it. Their horsepower ratings are a little high though, as most are, best I could get was 103 rear wheel hp and 118 RW torque. Very strong, but no 120hp as advertized.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]Buy American, Dude!!!

Yeah, kit I'm (eventually!) buying runs the Ultima engine. I saw one of those engines a coupla days ago & you're right, beautiful finish on it. I'm not too worried about the final power output, for me, it's reliability that matters.
I heard that the Ultima was 90% Korean, is that true? I use the R&R stuff myself, best power, reliability, and customer service I have ever found. Their show polished 113 is the best of the best.
yeah i for one, after seeing how they are advertised, dont think ultima engines are 100% (or even 75% for that matter) made in the USA..............not that it makes them bad, i just think some of the advertising is misleading
i have read stuff like BORN IN THE USA or DESIGNED IN THE USA
I own both a revtec 110 motor and a S&S 124. I like them both but favorthe S&S motor more.
I had to put compression reliefs in the revtec motor to keep a starter in it.
there isnt much comparrison between the two i have, the 124 screws but the 110 makes a heap of tourque.
I looked into the ultima motor and chose the revtec over it for a few reasons. Mainly it didnt make anywhere's near the advertised HP listed.
i have a 100ci rev tech with a little over 50 miles on it and have 0lbs of oil pressure at operating temp at an idle. feel like i have a very big foot inserted in my ***. am not a happy camper with my purchase at this time !!!!
This chick is100% Korean, but made and born in the USA. [sm=americanasmiley.gif]
Havent heard too many good things about Revtech. I hope that those who run w/em have better luck w/em than some folks I've spent time with at the side of the road.
That is one sweet looking bike, nice quality pic too! Like I said in previous posts, the kit I'm going to buy runs the Ultima engine - just too many bad reports on the Rev Tec.
Thanks again for all the honest input guys, it really is appreciated, I'd hate to make a big mistake.
Cheers from a wet UK - continous rain thru almost all of June & July, highest on record, thank God I live on high ground!
