I'm sure your project will be rewarding.I do envy those guys with their 100+hp chops I follow down the drag strip.I chose to KISS on my little red chopper, can't even imagine trying to kick start one of those beasts. Even though its light(530 lbs) and 80 hp, all I see is a huge doughnut and tailight after launch. Am quite pleased under normal riding conditions. Also envy you guys with a real winter. There is no down time in Texas. Really need to break her down for some rennovation but can't bring myself to do it 'cause tomorrow will be great for riding.
DeJavu, Don't envy the winters my friend, they are a pain in the butt! Cold, wet, short daylight hours & the frustration of not being able to ride! The only good thing about the winters is I spend more time with my wife - did I just say good thing??!! Seriously, give me the sunshine any day.
Brit, spent 5 yrs in Chicago, know winter, moved to Texas because of it. Still wish I had the ***** to pull the bike down. Needs paint, rechroming anda little welding here and there. Vibes cracked my front brake line yesterday, don't know how we used to get by on rear brake alone.
Tim, one hoeck of a bike, love the simplicity, lines and proportions, congrats.
Mark, That is one nice bike. I'd love to go the hardtail route but at my age my back & a$$ just couldn't take it! I always wanted the Captain America but my budget never could stretch to the commercial versions & trying to source the parts over here would take forever, so a kit bike it will have to be.
Yep, guess the Windy City must be kinda cool come the winter. Here in the North East of the UK we never get extremes of temperature, summers are usually in the mid to high 70's & winters are around minus 3/5 degrees & very little snow in the last 10 years. This summer has been very different with so much cloud & rain several UK cities have been flooded. In the City ofHull 30,000 people have lost their homes to flooding.
I have rollingcountryside 5 mins from my home & I've attached a coupla pics of my favourite ride, Hartside Pass. Great ride but every year a few guys 'buy the farm' usually riding crotch rockets.
Looks like I hi jacked my own thread!
Apologies to you guys with a slow internet connection.
We hop up a lot of S&S engines, Harley engines, and Jim's engines with our performance stuff. We don't like to do the over the pond stuff, the bottom ends can't take the power.[/align]
From everything I have read, RevTech is Korean made, and Rev-Tech is owned by Custom Chrome, Inc. I know their early motors were supposedly bad, but the new "4X4" 100cu. motor and 110 is supposed to be pretty good, but I have even heard of people starting to have problems with those as well. If someone were to give me one, I would take it apart, and rebuild it, just so I felt better about it all.
Ultima is supposed to be American made, and I have heard alot of good things about those motors.
