Default REVtech 6 speed

Okay before the flaming starts I know revtech is Korean junk and this is in a hardtail chopper but I come here due to to the volume of people and the overwhelming amount of mechanical knowledge and experience. Plus I have a touring bike too. So I have a Korean 6 speed in a Hardcore II chopper. 6th gear just quit working as if it is in neutral. gained access to the shifting drum/cam and shifting forks everything is working as it should (I threw a new fork in just to do something, It didn't fix it). It appears as if the drive output isn't engaging. I have put a Revtech 6 speed into a 1999 FLHT 5 speed 13 years ago but the mechanical actions of the transmission have slipped my mind if I ever knew it. Anyone have current knowledge that they could share would be appreciated!

Sounds like the gear dogs have sheared off. If it looks good but doesn't engage, I'm not sure what else it could be.

You sure it's fully engaging into 6th and not short shifting on you ?

Yep.. have cycled through multiple times. I am getting ready to pull the gears assembly out for a closure inspection.

I don't think I'd bother Mark on how to fix a Revtec.

Default Just a follow up on my findings for no 6th gear

On the Revtech 6 speed there is a woodruff key on the countershaft 6th gear. That key had sheared. Attached is a pdf file of the transmission diagram. The countershaft p/n is 30-420 you will see the woodruff key there. And just an FYI you will have to go to Tractor supply and get one for $.99 because the only way you're getting one from Custom Chrome is to buy 10 at $8.99 each because no one wants to buy 10 to have 9 set on the shelf. If it breaks again I will install an Ultima for $500. I bought the puller so I could remove the trap door and worked it without having to unstack all of the gears the gain access.
