Congrats on the new shovel. It looks like my FXE, but your rear fender is differnt. Yours is a FX model. Very sweet, how much did you pay for the old girl? BTW, welcome to the world of shovels!!! I just put 60 more miles on mine yesterday.

 

I picked it up for a grand off a family friend, it had notrun for 5 years and he only rode it a a couple dozen times since he purchased it, so I got it home and gave it alot of tlc and changed the points and it fired right up.

Vin#'s on the engine should be on the motor case just to the right of the points "cone" - The case manufacturing identification numbers can be found slightly underneath and towards the front on the primary drive side of the engine - that'll tell you what kind of Harley the motor came from - if the numbers on the frame don't match - then you're prolly gonna have to title it as a custom build - cause whoever has the matching frame has prolly got his bike titled with that number...

A grand and it runs? WOW, you stole that bike from that guy. I have seen disasembeled shovels sell for $3-$4K. Yours looks to be in great shape...If it is reliable it is worth a good bit more!! Congrats.
