I appreciate you guys sharing your like or dislike of the bike or the idea, but that is not much help.
Look at this bike, swap out the front with a VL springer, black out the engine, put a custom made tank on it that matches the rear fender, put on some "Junk" pipes on..and you'd be pretty close, no?
I'm sorry, you would not be close.
Very different frames & motors.
You can pick up a USA built hardtail & put a decent bike together without destroying something.
That shitbox in first post were similar to bikes (other than the motor) we rode when young, lacked money & had harder bodies.
But whatever blows your hair back brother.
Ride on & enjoy.
That Knuckle is a rich kid toy, do yourself a favor and if you are going to copy something, copy a real motorcycle.
Knuckle, as stated probably S&S motor not real, S&S carb, electric start, disco brake, and hand clutch!?!?!??!?!?! Son if you can't ride a real bike, go buy a Sportster David. And the riding position??? Made for profiling in Hollywood, nothing else. Probably has 100 miles on it at most.
Now that said, a Shovel is a perfectly good place to start to make your bike, just don't try and make it that bike. Fake patina can also get you in trouble fast, it is not easy to make it look old when it is not. Most look fake in person.
My suggestion, find a Shovel that is already old and crusty and go from there. But stop looking a celebrity crap. Good luck.

Already junk pipes . The shock could be removed and a bar welded in to make it a hard tail. Bucket of mud and grinder to reshape the tank should add some appeal to it. On the other hand some exhaust work and time it could be a nice ride.
If you are building a bike to your taste, then disregard what others say.
You cannot make everyone happy, right?
Pay attention to advice about safety and/or practicality for your needs. It will make a huge difference in how much you enjoy the bike.
But ultimately, it's your call barring state regulations on what you can and cannot do...unless you don't care about that but you must be able to register it.
Do you have the skills to make a bike? Unless you have been there or have an experienced friend to help you there are surprises around every corner.
If you do, it's lots of fun and immensely satisfying getting through to the finished product.
Best of luck man.
