Case with no numbers
Next two characters (86) indicate the left case is a 1986 model.
Next three characters represent the day of production and the last three characters indicate the production number for that day.
Your CPN appears consistent with factory stamping for a 1986 model and here’s a partial example for comparison of most characters.

But what about the area I highlighted with a blue rectangle in my previous post? Did you check that area thoroughly?
Also, I saw your latest thread (Custom bike need info) which apparently contains a picture of a number on the cylinders but the picture is not visible to me. Can you try posting that picture again please, and preferably in this thread. Thanks.
Eric
This number is located on the left side down near the stator plug
And no there were no numbers on the area you highlighted the numbers i have pictures of are the only numbers on there both jugs have the same numbers on them in the same place
The numbers you could not see very well what i can make out looks like 1659483A1597 does that make any sense

Here’s part of what I said in an earlier post: ‘Regarding the number you found on the R-H side of the front cylinder, it may be 16584-83 or 16584-83A?'
Notice in both my possibilities I said the fourth character is 8. But you say your fourth character looks like 9?
Also notice in both my possibilities I used a hyphen (-). And it looks like there is a hyphen on your cylinder? Is a hyphen present?
I think the first section of your latest marking may be 16584-83A which is one of the possibilities I suggested earlier on. And I think that may be a casting number.
In the orange rectangle below, there appears to be another marking? What is it? And is it cast-in or was it stamped on? And the same goes for your 1597. Is 1597 cast-in or was it stamped on? Can you clean both areas thoroughly and then post another photo so we can see those markings clearly.

For a 1986 model Evo there would normally be an engine number in the area I highlighted with a blue rectangle but if you have no number there, and no sign that anything was removed, then your cases may be replacements?
You mentioned that you found a dealer willing to help you try to find gaskets but that he needed pictures. Did you send pictures to that dealer? If so, what did he say? If you send the photo of your left CPN to him, or to the factory, or to the H-D Museum, then it could be checked because that CPN may be on record. Also tell them that both your cases have Z189 and send those photos as well. And because both cases have the same extra ID (Z189) as each other, it should mean they are a matched pair, which should also indicate that the CPN on your R-H case is the same as the CPN on your left case.
