Default buell motor

anyone who has any experience with nitrous, could a nitrous system be set up on a buell and have it still be a reliable motor?

I guess this could go with any vtwin motor, what are the thoughts out there on nitrous?

In my opion nos is like a hot chick with an STD . You know you want it but you also know the end result . You can run nos in small doses with out a problem . Your better off with an engine build though . An XB12 buell is a 100 hp motor . That will move a little build pretty dame quick .

Don't think you'd want to take it up much more than about 105 HP. If it is one of the older ones, you may get lucky, but the XB motor will come apart after a while. Plus, the XBs have different mounting tabs than the older Buells, so frame options are limited. Redneck engineering is about the only one I know off hand, but there could be others.

And that 103 HP at thecrank is more like 89 on the dyno. With the right chip setup and a micron exhaust you might make it to 100-105, but then it's maxed.

Right now on cycle trader you can find lots of running 90s series EVO Bikesfor about 6-9 grand. So the only way to really get your money's worth is to find a munged up one and possibly do a rehab, or a frame swap. Why anyone who didn't have to would do it is beyond me. 90s series EVOs are nice bikes for the price. Motor options are virtually out of this world. You can get an FXST for like 7 grand and use the rest of the money for motor/tranny build. So, unless you are thinking about a serious ground up build everything is just going to cost you more than buying an older bike and rehabbing it.

You also have to remember that the EPA is now regulating one off bikes somewhat more than they used to. I don't know how many builds you can do or how long you have to keep them anymore. But a running bike with everything and your build options are unlimited, without having the same restrictions imposed on titleing.
