Well I got the bike before last summer and did a bunch of mods to it. Then this past winter I lowered it and did the pipes. and this week I did the tires and Bars. All together I could have done it in a couple weeks if I had the time and all my parts together. Easy bike to work on and a lot of options. I went this route instead of the Cruiser look.
lownloud,
Looks good, nice work. I would like to see some close-up shots of the detail work you did...you know, tricky brackets you made and such. I like the round top rear fender, where did you get it?
Hey Megawatt.... Thanks, I'll see if I can take some pics. I got the fender from a guy in Ohio. I found him on another forum I frequent. He'll make whatever you want. Reasonable prices too. I hate the Trailer Fender Look.... too flat and square looking. I told him what I was lookin for and he shipped it up. Only thing I had to do was smooth out the (very small) weld marks on the top of the fender and then paint it. If you are interested let me know and i'll either find his card or get his email for you.
I am going to be doing the same basic setup with the Nightster when I get it (I am still researching all my parts) but there is one thing I have always wondered.....how do you deal with that seat??!? I LOVE your bike and all but wow, I couldn't trade a comfortable seat for fashion. Couldn't a solo seat work....you wouldn't be able to even really see it while you ride anyways.
lownloud,
Was your fender made by a guy named Craig Tirey? I am using one that he made. 13 gauge, very strong.
I bought from him when I found his stuff on eBay. I think he is in Ohio.
Have you done any performance stuff to the engine? Is it injected or a carb?
