Thanks this seems like a nice site to exchange Info and Ideas. On to my problem. I have 1999 wideglide with a 88 twin-cam carb motor that I get an occassional backfire through the carb at off idle and mid range. Any Ideas on what Jet size or if the Thunder Slide lit would work on this problem. Thanks
Not sure , but do you have the tunderslide currently?
As in backfire.. is it like its barfing for air?
Is this happing when you are leaving for the first ride of the day?
IS this happening after sitting with the motor running for a extended perios of time and possibly going at low speeds?
If you know your way around carbs a bit, I would suggest a #46 low jet #190 main and shim the main jet needle up with 2 - #4 washers ( .50 thousanths) and I will not run any better than this setup.
