I design bikes .(but do not have much at all mech knowledge.)
I wanted to ask you for your suggestions. I have a 1999 1200 I purchased in good condition and converted to bobber.
New wiring DYNA coil and DYNA S Ignition, Battery, key start , high air flow breather and jets.
Problem is about 50% of the time it starts up great.(hot or cold) the other times it kicks back with a little with puff of smoke out carb, upon second try fires right up.
this can't be good on starter gear.
Any suggestions or comments?
+1 sounds a little too advanced, you might also check the advance mechanism and make sure that everything is free and working properly.
I presume that with the Dyna S that you have a mechanical advance.
