If it's original parts it sounds decent. Do you have a motor, generator, and transmission?

Can't go wrong for 250. If the tank leaks, weld it; if the frame is bent, straighten it. It's a place to start, but be prepaired to take the time to learn as you go and work backwards from time to time.

What is your basis for saying it is a 56?

If what you have is straight up I'd be looking for a deal an a'56 pan and tranny. In the long run it'll be worth a lil more with those matching numbers but never as much as original. Think I'd go with a custom springer look rather than goin stock but thats just me.

Always great hearing of projects on the start. Haven't posted in a long time; life and funds always get in the way. Down to the wiring; just removed bike from the lift past wknd....it's birthday is 7.5yrs in the making. Cobbled pieces here & their; massaging alignment of parts to fit; forever mockups...but always a vision, dating to the 60's. I'll post a couple recent snaps; my album appears neglected. Took me a whole bunch of times to even remember the password, to get back on board! Cheers :-)
