Default 1999 FXR3 Lowering

I just bought my first HD, a 1999 FXR3 and want to lower the bike, and put a bigger tire on the rear. I was wondering if anyone had done this and what parts you might have used? I have found some lowering kits on J&P and Dennis Kirk. As far as the bigger tire, I am looking at putting a 150 on. Just looking for opinions, thanks!

I used a progressive suspension which has radically changed the bike. You can drop the bike with progressive. I also installed preload adjusters rather than the fork caps and a fork brace. All well worth the money. I've done nothing with the tire but may this winter including extending the swing arm.
