Default New Vivid Black Limited

Hey folks. I just brought home a 2015 Limited in vivid black. I have not owned an all black bike in a long time. Is it ok to use a quick detailer after a ride to get bugs and dust off, or will is show scratches? Also, any recommendations for wax for black paint?

I recently traded my vivid black Dyna for a Superior Blue Limited Low. I used Black Fire BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax on my Dyna. It is expensive for a 3 oz jar (BF-500S) but the results were impressive on the vivid black paint. Check it out on-line and hope this helps. I also used HD's quick detailer and did not notice any negative results. Congratulations on your new Limited.

Try Chemical Guys line of products. The best part is they have free videos that show you how to do everything. I use the Black Light polish, then seal and then wax. They make a spray on detailer also.

Vivid black has to be the softest paint ive ever seen.Itll scratch if you look at it when your mad.
I bought Turtle wax Jet Black detailer and use it between washing.Get a good coat of wax on it and you should be good to go.

The cleaner it is BEFORE you wipe it off ( with anything ) the better the final results. Kind of a "Catch 22 " ... Black is very unforgiving, BUT it is the Fastest Color!

I just detailed my Jade and black 15 Limited with Mequires cleaner wax, then Chemical Guys Black Light Polish, then pure Carnnuba wax. Then Chemical Guys Blitz acrylic sealant. This will last all summer and to clean you just wipe it with a micro fiber towel.

I am with GTK always wash first...... Poorboys black hole is wonderful for masking the swirls you will get with dark colors than a nice wax over the top
