Default Armorall replacement

I moved to the mountains 9 years ago and live 1/2 mile off the paved road. I used to use Armorall on my tires when I lived in town but did not make much sense up in the hills as it attracts so much dust. I used it a little hear and there and in edition to using on my tires after a good wash would treat and wipe off for a good non shiny black. I would also use it on hoses and the crinkle black of the motor as it really makes it stand out.

My last bottle of the old stuff is stuck in the truck of my 55 Chevy. Had it in there to detail before a car show. THe lock failed and I have to take the back seat out to rescue and repair, but I bought a bottle of Armorall "Original" formula and it is crap!. Does not look milky like the old stuff and does not give desired results. Anyone else experienced this and if so, what did you replace it with?

Really, research the car detailing websites/forums and you will find that generally speaking Armourall is considered crap! There are far better products out there.

Not part of what the OP is talking about, but Armor All is silicone based...if you spray it on or anywhere in the general vicinity of a vehicle, it will land on the finish of said vehicle. The next time you paint it, there will be 'fisheyes', or little craters, in the paint. Fisheye eliminator (FEE) will not always work, and I've had situations where I've stripped the paint all the way down to bare metal, washed that bare metal with every cleaner known in the body shop, and still had those fisheyes come back.

A word of warning to all who would spray Armor All...or engine brightener...or quite possibly Pig Snot...or anything containing silicone.

Larry is right.
Armorall makes vinyl crack when exposed to UV. MasterCraft Boats specifically says do not use Armorall. They recommend Aerospace 303. Wizard makes silicone free conditioners, and so does Ragg Topp.
