So I have been searching to see if there is a way to polish scratches out of chrome. My exhaust has some scratches in it from a tow strap. I cannot catch my fingernail on them. I have read everything from using semichrome, autosol , micro fiber towels and 0000 steel wool with the polish. Just looking to see if anyone was ever successful and what you used.
You can use polish made for paint on chrome also.
Hard to say without seeing the damage in person, but try some compound if the polish doesn't work. Lots of good metal polishing products on the market
I don't have a picture of them, I tried semichrome and Autosol....I guess maybe I am not working it hard enough...I will get a picture when I get home today
Apply red jewelers rouge or a polish designed specifically for chrome to a soft cloth or a #000 steel wool pad.
Rub the cloth or steel wool over the scratched area in a circular motion. Apply more jewelers rouge or chrome polish to the cloth or pad as needed to keep it moist. Continue rubbing in a circle for several minutes. Remove the jewelers rouge or chrome polish from the chrome-plated surface with a microfiber cloth. Inspect the area. Apply more rouge or polish with a cloth or pad if scratches are still there. Repeat this process until scratches are no longer visible.
I found this on the internet and never tried it. Hope it helps.
Not being right in front to actually see it, I agree that your not going to get that out. You might be able to get it less noticeable. However, Proceed with caution. If you go wild on it you might end up with more damage then what you started with.

Less noticeable is all I am really going for. Hell the Bike is 15 years old and so are the pipes so it is going to have character to it
