Engine Cleaner Dawn Soap?

Dawn WILL NOT strip wax. What it does is leave a film on the paint and covers up the beading from the wax.
Dawn can degrade wax that is on its last leg, just like any other strong soap.
Everyone here has spent good money on their bikes and accessories, thousands and thousands of dollars. Why not use a product designed for the job? All to save a few dollars? Im all about saving money but dam. Your bike your choice

Dawn dishwashing liquid is a great de-greaser but Tide Liquid Laundry detergent is even better! I've been using it for several years because it's cheaper than products like Gunk. I also use it for oil or gas stains on garage floors, driveways and for cleaning out gas tanks prior to lining or welding.

I dont use it. I have plenty of high end detailing products in the garage. Products designed for the job. I leave the kitchen chemicals in the kitchen

Where did using dawn on paint come from I this thread? The OP asked about decreasing and cleaning the engine, I would use it on the engine if I had nothing else or couldn't afford anything else. I would never use it on paint.

IF I use water on my bike, I will always pre-rinse before applying S-100 Total Cycle cleaner with great results. I never apply to warm bike and do not ever let it dry on it. Then I will apply the engine brightener. Good as new!

just talking about cleaning the engine. I have plenty of good purpose-specific soaps and detailers for the rest of the bike.
