I too have used ScratchX on my bike and truck for light scratches in the paint. I use PlastX on the bike windshield with great results. I use RainX on all GLASS parts. Do NOT use RainX on windshield.
Used it this past weekend on both cars.
Took serious tree stains off mine and really removed some scratches on my wife's (some light and some a bit deeper).
I think the secret is to use a small amount, not as much as if it were wax or polish.
And I did smaller areas at a time, eg. hood, fender, door - not the whole car at once.
Followed with Meguiar's Gold Class wax.
Scratch X rocks. Just used it to clean the Clear COat on my '02. Looked for a long time for an old-school product that used mild abrasives to polish. Lots of the products are non-abrasive and fill the scratches with "something". A Glaze is a good example. THe scratch X will actually buff out small scratches and stains from the clear coat. It takes a little elbow grease and it worked better by hand than by using a buffer- but I have a cheap a$$ non-random buffer.
After the Scratch X, the paint appears to be factory fresh- improved the clarity and gloss. I have a $20 bottle of 3M Imperial Hand GLaze which fills the scratches with a polymer or something- didn't even use it- paint (clear coat) looks GREAT.
Tried Scratch X last year on vivid black which was full of swirl marks. After some elbow grease the paint almost looks good as new. Very deep and smooth color. Definitely recommend.
