If you're cost conscious, get a bottle of rinseless wash concentrate with Si02 in it and dilute it to detail spray or waterless wash strength. Use that on your windshield. It'll clean and protect. You can also obviously then still use the concentrate for rinseless washing (and clay lube, and interior wipe down, and glass cleaner, etc.).

I personally like Wolfgang Uber Si02 for this.

Does anyone know of anything that works BETTER on plastic windshields?
I would not use it on plastic.
Use this instead. Click me

Thumbs down Bug Slide Sucks!

After more than half a bottle gone I have to say Bug Slide is simply overpriced snake oil crap.

It did nothing to prevent bugs from sticking to my windshield or to help them "slide" off.

I achieved the same results with a bottle of Invisible Glass, a clear plastic cleaner I bought at Lowe's for just $4 on sale.

If you encounter Bug Slide at your next bike show or shop, avoid it; it's completely worthless...

You used half a bottle in 9 days?
Yeah I'd be disappointed too if I was applying that much of this expensive crap soaking my windshield every few hours and it still wasn't working for me.
For me a couple sprays (better to apply it to the rag as the mist wastes a lot) on my small windshield lasts at least 2 weeks of daily riding, much more if I never get caught in the rain. I agree, I don't notice less bugs, but I never noticed many squashed bugs on my windshield before, but it sure makes the rain not just bead up but never seems to even get on it - faceshield too
I haven't used 1/10th that much of this 4oz bottle all summer.
But I'll try Lowes when I do run out - that 22 oz bottle should last me the rest of mt life.

That's right, and during those nine days, it failed to perform as promised.

I bought it specifically to use it when needed; otherwise, it’s completely useless.

If it’s not delivering on its claims, I have no choice but to use more of it.

At this point, I just want to finish it up and switch to a product that actually works.

Paying $12 for a mere 4-ounce bottle is ridiculous!

I should have gone with the S-100 special surfaces cleaner instead, which was right next to this product, but I foolishly listened to the salesperson.

What am I supposed to do—avoid using it and end up riding with my screen caked in bugs that don’t just “slide off” when wiped?

I rely on my bike for my daily commute, and the bug situation is overwhelming here right now.

Based on my experience, this product is nothing but overpriced trash, end of story.

I’m going to send an email to the company to make sure they know about it...

Actual snake oil would probably work good to repel water too.

Got caught in the rain on the boat some - the leftover Bugslide that was on the rag that I used to do my motorcycle windshield was enough.
If you've ever been caught in an open boat in the rain it's almost as miserable as on a motorcycle.
At least I could see.
I'm sure any of those products would have worked Rain-X whatever. I just never thought to put it on my boat before - where I really should have as smaller boats generally don't have windshield wipers.
Even if it doesn't rain it helps with the spray.

I use this product:

Disclaimer: Resist is not primarily a windshield treatment. It's a short-term (months not years) graphene application typically used on painted surfaces. It works perfectly fine on chrome, clear plastics and glass. I use it on the bike windshield and it's good stuff. Wipe it on wet. Let it dwell for a minute or 2. Polish with a good microfiber towel. Crystal clear and almost impossibly slick. Rain and water glide right off. Bugs require half the effort to remove. It puts Bugslide to shame as a pre-ride prep. I use a good detailer spray to clean the shield after a ride.

I read on the internet...someplace...that if I clay my motorcycle windshield before applying the magic goo, most will work much better. It is cleaning the windshield throuroghly first that count more then the goo.

I bought some bug slide after a friend cleaned and polished my windshield. I will clean it well this evening, probably even removing it and soaking it in dawn dish soap for 30 minutes. So I should have good data after this weekend.
