The best I have found locally... at Walmart is Rain-X's water repellent solution.
Does anyone know of anything that works BETTER on plastic windshields?
Anything really will work better - as there is a warning on the back of that bottle not to use it on plastic. Regular Rain-X clouds or even dissolves plastics.
Rain-X sells a version just for plastics - trouble is it doesn't really work.
Bugslide.
It's only trouble is that it's stupid over the top expensive.
I used what was just left on the rag after doing my motorcycle windshield and helmet visor on the windshield in my truck. Next day it rained hard and I never had to turn my windshield wipers on - the stuff really works.
Even Rain-X for glass on glass doesn't do that.

I use Rain-X all the time and was in a downpour yesterday, everyone had their hazards on and doing like 30MPH on the highway because they couldn't see.
I drove right past em.......I love that chit!!
I picked this stuff up today (BugSlide), I'll see how/if it works.
The sprayer on that 4oz bottle really sucks.
When it does work it vaporizes it into a fine mist into the air wasting most of it.
It's too damn expensive to waste like that so
I unscrew it and put it directly on the rag or windshield/visor.
Then use that rag on my other vehicles until theres nothing left.
god am I cheap.

I was kind of torn as the place I bought it from also had S-100 Special Services Cleaner, which gives you more product (10.1 ounces), for the same amount of money as the Bug Slide.
They recommended the Bug Slide over the S-100 as they said they use it on customer bikes after service.
I have no experience with either, so I took a shot.
After the Bug Slide is gone, I may try out the S-100.
