The Diamond Cut I am refering to is the process where many guys are having the fins on heads and cylinders Cut to look like diamonds...It is an aftermarket process, but exposes the raw aluminum , and S100 takes the gleam away...You should be fine on the standard Harley--You scoot is very nice by the way!
as a graduate of jungle survivor school, prior to going to viet nam, i just pick em off and eat em now, taste like crap, but theyre good for ya!
How's that work for those on a low carb diet?
TNW, I like the idea of the pack of wipes while on the road, they are easier to get off sooner rather than later. I keep the bike waxed, washed, etc, but there are an amazing number of bugs here in the desert, and when I ride to work in the morning, I'm definitely doing my part for population control.
Thanks for the replys, but I'm still curious about this industrial stuff.
Plexus has been mentioned a couple of times. Where do you buy it at? Their website only offers it by the case, I I don't want to spend that much, expecially for a product that I've never used. BTW, my local dealer recommends BOM for everything, from bugs to windshields. Anyone have any experience with this product. TIA

On the windshield, just get a decent sized towel, wet it, drape it over the windshield, pat it down on the surface of the windshield, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then the bugs will wipe right off with a wet rag. Then dry off with a clean soft dry rag.
On the rest of the bike, I just wet the bugs similarly, let sit for a few minutes then they wipe right off. If I'm really getting ****, I use some Harley spray spritz type of stuff. That simple.
Or, when I feel really sporty, I just swerve away from a bugs as I see them coming.
I use Whitleys Whitewall Cleaner when I am completely washing the bike. Just spray it on let it set(not directly in the hot sun) and then spray with a hose. Virtually no scrubbing needed.
