How do you guys like to clean the bugs off your bike. I'm talking about the bugs that you get when you don't need to wet-wash the whole bike, rather just clean off the bugs?

I've been using Meguires Detailer stuff with a microfiber towel...seems to be working pretty well...

Thoughts?

Ive used WD-40, its acually a better cleaner IMHO than a lubricant

 

I put a wet rag or paper towel on them and let it sit for a few minutes. The moisture softens them up, after that they wipe off.
Detailer spays also work well.

 

I spray my Bike down with Off Deep Woodsâ„¢ before riding. Keeps the bugs off!

 

creamy go-jo hand cleaner (no pumice!) is excellent for removing bugs from paint or chrome.

About once a month, I wipe down the bike with that S100 Detail Wax in the aerosol spray can. Then, when I wash the bike, I use the S100 total cycle cleaner, and the bugs just slide right off the fork, fender and front of the gas tank. The only place I need to use elbow grease to remove them is the windscreen. I think the wax keeps them from sticking too much.

The bugs aren't too heavy down here yet...we'll see if this method continues to work this summer when the "love bugs" come out. I hate those damn things.

I saw the magic words s-100 appear. I have been told do NOT use s-100 on any diamond cut engine parts- Dullsville real quick.

As to the bugs, I bought a container of bug wipes, and put a wad of them in a ziplock bag.... They are pourous disposal (fairly tough) cloths about 5x5 that seem to do a good job wiping away the bugs when I am on the road!
