I pick up my '08 RKC this Saturday and was wondering if there could be anything wrong with applying wax (Zainos Z-2 & Z-6) to the engine chrome; heads, primary, headers and exhaust. I did it on my old bike, an Intruder 700, but I was just using a Carnuba paste wax.
This stuff is the best for that... Wheel Guarddon't let the name fool you... I use it on my cases, wheels, heads and all other chrome & aluminum. It's not affected by heat (won't discolour) and makes the chrome mirror smooth... dust just flies off. AMAZING product.
Applying a wax or polish to any part of the bike that will get that hot isn't worth it. Will melt away. I use Zaino on paint and Mothers on chrome.
I totally agree.... I never use wax... that's why I recommended Acrylic.
Zaino & Mothers make good products but a waist of money to me. They are more convenient to buy but in my books are less superior to Chemical Guys proffessional grade products.
