Default ARGH! First paint chip...

I've had the bike since July 4th weekend last year and have almost 10K miles on it -- and got the first small chip on the top surface of the front fender. Fortunately, no "ding," just a chip/marring in the paint. Suggestions in fixing this with minimal detection? It is solid black.

TIA

Tod

I got a good tip years ago from a friend who worked in a body shop. First off, be sure and shake the small container of touch-up paint "extra" well. Then take the end of a tooth pick and just get enough of a little paint ball on the end that when you put the tooth pick in the center of your chip the wet paint will only go over to the edge of the chip and not so much that the paint will flow over good paint. If you think the chip needs more paint, let the first attempt dry first and then later ad a little more.

After a few days of being sure it was totally dry I used a small drimel tool with a buffer wheel and the chip was gone.

Wow.... thanks. It all makes sense, and now I've got to give it a try. I appreciate the information.
