Default How to thin touch up paint?

I ordered the touch up paint to repair a small scratch on my front fender. knowing that this stuff usually goes on much thicker than desired I wondered what to use to thin it down a bit? I plan on using an artist brush and a small amount of paint in a cup rather than the brush in the bottle. With a eye dropper I think I can mix the right amount of thinner.

You would have to know what type of paint it is. Probably just urethane reducer form any paint shop. Smallest amount to buy would be a pint, and they sell for about $12.

$12 on top of the $20 for the kit is making this scratch a bit expensive. I'll try the smallest artist brush I have first and see how that works. Maybe I can work the edges better with it than the bottle brush.

Once applied, if it looks too thick after drying, use HD Scratch and Swirl remover to smooth it down and virtually hide the repair. Just keep applyingand rubbing it in till its smooth.

If it's a thin scratch, try using a toothpick instead of a brush.
