Definitely looks like head injury, probably not beat up too bad. I would have had a night off work and a full freezer! Good job riding out of it instead of panicking. I've cut back on night riding for this reason. Way too many close calls and I tend to want to ride faster at night. My dyna has also killed a deer. My buddy was riding it and scooped one up on the front fender and wrapped it around the forks. Head dented the tank on one side and *** dented the other side. He came to a stop, shoved it off and continued riding.

I used to not think anything about riding at night but now I am a little nervous...too many critters, two and four legged, out and about.
Glad you didn't get hurt and the damage to your ride was minimal.

That used to bother me somewhat when I was working at the concrete plant and had to travel for ten miles in the dark at all hours, but retired now and don't have too, glad your ok your guardian angel was looking out for you.

Definitely let the instincts take over and glad I had the power to pull it off. Hitting the brakes would have probably ended up with me and the deer sliding down the road.
I think I may settle down on the night riding till next year...soo many deer running around now. The population needs cut down. Seems to be a little more this year.
I tightened up the saddlebag lid and nothing I can do about the spider cracking, but it's not real noticeable, plus it's the primary side so nobody really sees it when it's parked.
Hope not too many others get caught in the same situation.

You are very fortunate! I love to ride at night, but had to quit because there are just too many deer in my neck of the woods.
