Default Plug at the front of the oil pan?

What is this for? Could it potentially be used to install an oil temp sensor?

I have an fxrp fairing installed on my bike and an HD oil temp sensor installed in it...curious to see if this plug could be used to install the sensor or if it would be better off installing a T-fitting on the drain plug or oil return line.

Any ideas?

I read on another thread that that is where you install the sensor for an oil temp gauge.

The one that the manual says " do not remove"...yea oil temp sensor goes there.
Also if your running an oil cooler you could by the adaptor that has an oil temp port on the oil offset adaptor and put the temp sensor in the adaptor.
