Even the maker of that "darkside" video states that you do give up some handling. So....worse handling = BAD . I want/need MORE performance cornering...not less. So while this mod is ok for riders who go around corners like their grandma, trying to keep the bike straight up and down or slow speeds, for those who scrape pegs and pipe, this is not acceptable. If it works for you...go for it.
Up next will be the vintage car tires being used on the front of these big wheeled customs. Someting like this, also note your getting the most white wall exposer you can get.
If a person is worried strictly about cornering then you would want a racing tire. You know one that you will have to replace after every ride because they wear out so fast, but they are sticky!
Some of the wide tires are pretty square too, and they are designed for motorcycles.

There's a lot more science that goes into designing tires than the appearance of squareness. Most videos that support this "darkside" BS have slow motion or freeze frames of the tire contact patch when leaned over with a supporting statement similar to "well if you ask me it looks like there's just as much or more rubber on the road with this tire". Sorry boys, in the engineering world "looks good to me" doesn't fly.
Will it work? Sure.
Is it the best option for a motorcycle? Absolutely not. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

Yes I realize this, I'm just trying to say the wide tires are NOT the BEST for performance. Many people don't think twice about those because they are a "motorcycle" tire.
I stated it is NOT the BEST option.
If ALL you want is cornering then get a racing tire. The trade off is horrible mileage.
If you want mileage there is probably no better option then a car tire. It is also great if you want a wide tire for looks.
There is always a trade off it seams.

I might add to this statement that if most of your riding is not in the curves (most riders) that a CT will greatly reduce your stopping distance and improve traction in the wet.
