So you've learned to corner while keeping the bike vertical? Please tell me more.

look guys youre all wasteing your time trying too educate these riders who cant understand the logic car tyres are only made for cars, just let them do their own retarted thing.,,, same goes for the guys that think 18 inch high ape hangers make your bike handle thru the corners (hills) race track style,,,,,or the clowns wearing their SOA t shirts think their a 1% outlaw

yes use a car tyre on a bike is if your got a side car attached remember you cant educate a idiot who dosent know how or understand how too ride a motorcycle properly thru the hills,

I might be a rude ***** the way I come across but im not that retarted I would ever think a car tyre on a bike will ever handle or be a safe bike too ride,,,,, one day one off these clowns will kill a innocent family when their bike becomes a missile when the clown looses control off his bike

I like it, kind of an 'all in one' debunk.
I agree BTW.

It's interesting to notice that in general, those trashing the car tires have never tried them. And those who have tried them report some benefits, and not any problems.

(Just what I've noticed in a lot of reading on the subject, I haven't tried them either)

I agree with all the above. If you can't afford to buy proper tires for your syckle, maybe you should have bought a cheaper bike.

It's not necessarily a matter of money. Someone might be taking a long trip, for instance, and not want to be sidelined with changing tires once or twice during the trip. (much lower wear reported on the car tires)

But some people like to save money. Maybe they really stretched their budget to buy a Harley. Or maybe it's an ethic that's important to them, or it's a challenge that's interesting to them. Nothin' wrong with any of that.

Airs bag, tires, tattoos: Just a few things not to be cheap about. Just my 2 cents.

Before you start throwing around the mo****r "idiot" maybe you should use spell check.....
I have not seen any evidence of a car tire causing a motorcycle to become a "missile". Please share your evidence of such so we can all become less "retarded".
I have heard, and seen, much evidence of riders going beyond there abilities and becoming a "missile". None of which were caused by a car tire.
No one said that a car tire was the "best" option for cornering, simply that it will work.
I take it you use only tires designed for the utmost performance? Ones designed strictly for high speed cornering, that you do only on the track? Speeding around corners, even with performance designed tires, would simply not be safe to do on the streets....one might call a person who participates in such activities.....retarded.

I agree with you too. I don't care if someone has a car tire. Whether it's to be different or try something new to get longer tire life.
If you're riding the big fat flat straight super slab maybe they last longer and perform OK. But they don't work as well in corners. And I like corners.

I had a guy on a hot rod Warrior with a car tire try to race me. For three stop lights each time I hammered it he would disappear behind me. Then when we got to some big sweepers he fell 1/4 mile behind. There's no way he could do high speed corners any where near the speeds I was going. (which he admitted at the next lite)
So bigger contact patch or not I suggest they aren't as stable as a MC tire.

I have tried it. A Vulcan 900 that a co-worker rides. I could stand it. Every time the road sloped, either to the right, or to the left (which is all the time around here), the bike would pull in that direction. A road with an extreme crown to it was very annoying.. Owner said he got used to it, but I *hated* the constant battle with the handlebar. I was never so ready to get off that POS.
