I have tried it. A Vulcan 900 that a co-worker rides. I could stand it. Every time the road sloped, either to the right, or to the left (which is all the time around here), the bike would pull in that direction. A road with an extreme crown to it was very annoying.. Owner said he got used to it, but I *hated* the constant battle with the handlebar. I was never so ready to get off that POS.
I had the same problem with my bike. What I did I lower pressure from 40 to 32.
look guys youre all wasteing your time trying too educate these riders who cant understand the logic car tyres are only made for cars, just let them do their own retarted thing.,,, same goes for the guys that think 18 inch high ape hangers make your bike handle thru the corners (hills) race track style,,,,,or the clowns wearing their SOA t shirts think their a 1% outlaw
yes use a car tyre on a bike is if your got a side car attached remember you cant educate a idiot who dosent know how or understand how too ride a motorcycle properly thru the hills,
I might be a rude ***** the way I come across but im not that retarted I would ever think a car tyre on a bike will ever handle or be a safe bike bike too ride,,,,, one day one off these clowns will kill a innocent family when their bike becomes a missile when the clown looses control off his bike9)
Look at the great big rant from somebody to "retarted" to properly spell "retarded".........................sooooo, is this calling the kettle black?
His had less than that, and it was terribly annoying, that constant correcting for any little slope... No thanks...
Some of that happens with wider motorcycle tires to.... once you get up around a 240. No big deal, after you've ridden it long enough to get used to it.

It *is* a big deal. It's unnecessary, and I hate it. Like having a completely worn-out motorcycle tire, and you're putting it on as a *new* tire. It's like saying you *like* when your motorcycle tire is worn out. It's idiocy.
And yer joking; a A M/C 240 isn't any where *near* as flat as a car tire is. Not even close. Get real.
I'd be interested to hear what the insurance company's response would be to an accident caused by or even just involving a bike fitted with a car tire. I'm pretty sure it would be illegal here in the UK.

LOL, the motorcycle tire isn't as flat, but it's wider than the 175 car tire. So ride the motorcycle tire on a highly worn "tram-track" section of road (hills and valleys, side to side), and the amount the contact patch is offset from the center line might be about the same as on the car tire. It will throw you around a little. Like I said, you ride it a bit and you get used to it. Heck, even my ol' lady has no problem with it. What's your deal?
Over all the years and years that I've been riding, I've always enjoyed the feeling and the fact that I like my bike to go where I want it to go and not go where It wants to go!
I'm wondering how many that are trashing the use of a car tire actually rode a bike with one, or a vintage bike with a similar profile tire. I just recently changed my tires, it was a big difference from my worn out 180 Dunlop to a 160 Shinko. The Shinko had a lot more rounded profile, and on the first ride I almost went down as the bike leaned over a lot more easily then I expected. Took a little time to readjust and get comfortable with the new tires. I think I like the old set up better as I'm just into cruising and not into the sport bike thing. My old worn out 180 Dunlop looked more like the profile of a car tire when I changed it because I take the turns like Grandma.
