Not sure what is different, but the intiminators come with instructions on placement, and oil measurement should be with the fork vertical, intiminators installed, and spring out - the important part is that each fork fluid level is the same as the other, and you should shorten your spacer by the width that the intiminators take up under the spring - I believe it is around 5/8".

What spacer? Don't have a spacer. That is what I'm a little confused about. No mention of a spacer in instructions.
I believe the spacer HD pilot is talking about is the steal,if stock, spacer that sits on top of the springs that is used to compress the fork springs when the fork tube cap is screwed back on which sets your preload. When measuring Id measure with the intiminators in, springs out and make sure the forks are compress when checking fluid level .
The thread that was started awhile back has alot of useful info there. It is a long thread but worth the time reading

Ok, thanks. No spacer on mine. Directions do say spacer-some models only. I got the intimidators in, oil level measued, springs back in. It is not easy threading the cap back on with all that spring pressure. Will let you know how it goes.
You probably have the caps on by now but before you put the spring in, screw the cap on slightly and use some tape or something to "mark" where the threads just start to engage. Now when you are pressing that cap down with the spring in you can have the threads right at where you want them to start the threads together.

Good advice, I will try that.
ANother question..should i measure oil level with intimidators in the fork or should I have them out?
