Merry Christmas to all, my wife bought me the V&H Super Radius exhaust and I got to say I love it, deep sound and loud enough to know its running but not Short Shot loud. Anyways my real issue is after doing the research on this exhaust (very little info out there) I ran into the issue that I cannot put the rear peg back on in the stock location as the exhaust is in the way. There was no adapter for the pegs to raise it up to clear the exhaust. I have send a email to V&H just awaiting their response if they have an adapter or block of some sort to put under with longer bolts. My question is if they don't can I just use some thick wall steel pipe and longer bolts to put the peg mount back on? Will this cause any issue and is it safe for her to ride on? I'm sure not too safe to put full weight on as you might bend the bolts but not sure, just need a little advise from you guys if this is a viable option for me. Also I might even have to do it for t he other side as the wife doesn't want to be "unbalanced" with her feet. Any help you all can provide on a direction to go would be great. Again Merry Christmas to all hope everyone had a great Christmas.
I just went out and looked and my FXDWG and can see where your problem is. If you can figure out how to raise the mount enough to clear your pipes, Harley and Kuryakyn both make passenger peg extensions so your wife's feet are in the same place. I got the 4" Kuryakyn for mine. My wife wanted to stretch out more for the long trips and they work great. Very adjustable to get the pegs in the same place.
You have a part number for them? Going to t he dealer tomorrow since I'm working today and see what they can come up with but will look online for t he ones you are talking about. Thanks for the tip.
Once you get your peg mount to clear your pipes, here is the # for what I used to get my wife feet where she wanted them.
Kuryakyn 4557 4" adjustable-lockable offsets
do a search but heres your answer, should have came with a peg mounting spacer, the latest manufactured one's come with both left and right spacer too equal peg height... email V@H or speak too the retailer they where purchased from... Harley even do a raised passenger peg for short passengers, I brought my wife higher platform shoes a lot cheaper excersize
