Default How did I not know about these!?!

So I was looking for something to highlight my calipers and came across these. Don't know how I never knew about this product. They worked really well! No more using fingernail polish for touch up projects. I'm sure I'll find all kinds of other uses for them too. The whole set came from Wal-mart but Amazon and art stores carry them as well.

I would suggest you check out Michaels craft stores, there is a product from Montana cans. They now make paint pens with really high quality paint. They also have empty pens that you can fill with whatever color you like, and they have a large variety of tips and sizes, so you can do super fine point touch ups to large coverage area's.

These are great!

Black sharpies and paint pencils have been used to touch-up black brass instrument screw heads and minor scratches in aircraft instrument panels for decades.

I have stockpiled white and black paint pens from my work. I use them to mark by drill steel underground.

Always seemed regular black Sharpies had a purple-ish cast to them in sunlight. Not when used on paper but when used on certain metal pieces. At least to my eyes.

Will the Sharpies still have the gloss factor that nail polish has?

That was the one thing I did notice about the Sharpies vs finger nail polish. FP has a pretty good gloss to it. The Sharpies have more of a semi-gloss finish. These are a true black, red, silver...because they are paint not whatever makes a regular Sharpie have that "purple" sheen. I always used a regular black Sharpie to touch up black but never did like that sheen.

Anybody venture a guess on how well the black one of these would paint over the adhesive sliverish thing on the side of the brake calipers?

I don't think braking heat would transfer there enough to be significant so probably more the issue is how well it would cover and stay.

Just wondering.
