Default Options for Wide glide tires ?

So I'm wondering if there are any new options for tires for the newer Wide glides 2010 on. I'd like a 90/90/21 front and as wide as possible on the 4.5"x17" sucky rear rim. I'm still running the factory Dunlop. The rear rim width I believe to be the problem.

For my 2008 WG I just got the 90/90/21 for the front. Plenty of room under the fender. Also got a 180/60/17 for the rear. That's all the 4.5 inch rim can handle. Looks like not going to be a lot of room left between the tire and belt also. Dunlop and Pirelli are the only 2 that I know of that makes a 180 for the 4.5x17 rim.

I have the original Michelin Scorcher on my 2012 and at 7200 miles it still looks and rides good.

I asked this same question before as the consensus with the Pirelli Night Dragon is it doesn't seem to last (from what I've read here).

At this point "when" I need a new tire I'll pay the xtra $$ and get the HD branded Michelin unless someone has a better recommendation.

Not much out there for the stock shop wheels.I run the night Dragon 90/90-21 up front and 180/60-17 Night Dragon on the rear.Much better tires than the stock Dunlop.

I'm not a dunlop fan either but I have been pleased withe the stock michelin scorchers. proper air inflation is the key.

Default tires

I am running the night dragons right now. I went with the 90/90 front and its a good tire. The rear is a 190 bit other than that its stock size. The front tracks a little better than the stocker. Overall im not happy with the pirelli tires, they take forever to heat up and im on 4500 for the rear and its about toast.. I would look at the avon tires or the metzeler tires.. not a big fan of the pirelli at all.. I ride a 2011 fxdwg.

Default Avon calling

I looked at Metz. Web site couldn't even make sense of their info or lack there of. Dennis Kirk and Jp. Showed nothing. I just heard about a possible 190/17" by Avon. My Dunlop on the front is cupped bad at 6500 miles. Anyone running Avon ? I can't find any Michelin on their web site. Wtf ?

Keeping an eye on this thread. i have 6900 miles on my '13 wide glide and the front tire is toast. The rear still looks good and can probably get another 2 to 3000 miles out of it. I am used to buying 2 rears to one front, so really need to hear what everyone is getting, mileage wise on the different tires.

To keep the stock size and run a Michelin, it is a MOCO (hd) branded tire available only at the dealership....and of course it ain't cheap, go figure.

Yes my Dunlop are the same way. My sure I can get another 2 or 3000 out of the rear. I guess HD was using Dunlop's in 2011 ? Did yours come with Metz.? The Avon Cobras look pretty cool. But the 190/60/17 is recommended for a 5"wide rim. of which I here of guys putting 200s on there stock rims. I'm going to look into putting a wider hoop and new spokes on the back. So I can could put a 200" on the back. I know we can run a 5.5" on the back. I drove a used bike at my local dealership that had a 3.25"x21" and a 5.5"x17" 200mm in the rear.Big difference in the front end. I just don't know how much all that would cost.
