Default heat demon melts rubber grips

I just purchased some heat demon grip warmers that install inside the handlebars and was wondering if I will have a problem with my rubber grips over the bars if they would melt or deform from the heat. do you think I will need to buy some metal knurled grips.

melting point of rubber is going to be over 200 degrees . but your grips are not made of rubber... they would be made out of some sort of synthetic rubber,, a TPE , EVA or Matalasyn... and those have a high melt temp as well.... i would think the bar warmers would be a non issue....im sure the MFG has considered your question during design,...

Heat demons' assembly instructions says to check operation - bars should reach 150* max

I asked Heat Demon the same thing. They told me to stay with rubber grips as they work better.

I have Heat Demon grip warmers on an fxr that I own. The only problem I have is that one of the rubber coverings when warm tends to loosen up and wants to slip off. No melting or deforming of the grip cover though.

Check out Performance Machine (PM) grips with Renthal rubber! (a.k.a. PM Renthals).
