Hey guys, is anyone running the Performance Machine grips with Heat Demons? I have Heat Demons on the way and a set of Renthal PM grips waiting here for install.
Just wondering if the heat will damage the rubber at all? Also, if the rubber will act somewhat as an insulator and block some of the heat from coming through?
Anyone running any other combos out there they want to comment on? These PM grips are expensive so I don't want to damage them but as soon as the snow and ice clears off these roads I am hitting the streets, I don't care if it 30 deg Fahrenheit (reason for the Heat Demons, lol...).
Don't know about Heat Demons but I've run the Renthal PM grips for a couple years. When you install them, don't rely only on the set screws to hold them on--use grip glue. My left grip came off while I was riding! After that I put some grip glue in there and no more problems.
i had the heat demons with my pm grips, no problem with them melting, if you leave them on high for too long, the rubber does get a little soft, but that is way hotter than i have ever need them to be, i usually run them on 2. i am now using the harley reduced diameter grip off the sporty. i founf that the curve in the pm grips was hitting a nerve in my throttle hand, causing it to go numb. since i put the flat grip on, no more problem with numbness...
