Default Exhaust question

I have an 03 WG with Screamin Eagle exhaust. Was thinking about changing them out for some straight shot slip ons. The guy at the shop claims I won't tell much difference between the two and its a waste of money. Is he right? Should just go for some big shots or something similar? I'm wanting to change the sound as well as the looks. Thanks

I have had both exhausts on my bike, currently have the screamin eagles. I couldn't really tell much difference in performance between the two. The vance & hines are a little louder though.

the V&H will be louder and likely have more of a snarl to them in the higher rev zones compared to HD SE pipes. But at idle the difference will be practically non discernable.

with the little amount i know about those two pipes. i know one thing, that i would never buy slip ons over a full pipe lol

slip ons may be cheaper but you will be happier with a full pipe in the long run

I think the V&H slip on's sound good but I would just save your money and buy a full system. I have the slip on's on my 09 fxd (bought it with them) and they are being taken off next week and put up for sale.

I just don't see any long term advantages to them unless you want sound and are selling in the seen future.

I have the straight shots full system I think they sound great. The big shots do have the power chamber so im sure they will prog give you the best performance out of a 2 into 2. The straight shots full system can be had for around $420
