Actually I ran 2 comments I read together. Did not meant to type "not", but did mean 950. Thought the OP had later stated 950, but it was someone else. Mine is between 950 -1000.
To each their own. There may or may not be a risk involved. Too many variables to break down an exact cause of a failure related to idle could be said. For peace of mind and the fact that my cams give me a healthy sound at the idle tts sets. Tach reads 980+/- few rpm. No since in trying to fix something that isn't broke for no inherent benefit. Had to do some tuning runs with idle at 800 and I didn't like the way it sounded or felt.
