What's the biggest tire I can stuff on my stock wheel
A 180/60/17, but your options are very limited. You pretty much have 3 choices in a 180, the Dunlop that harley offers in their wide tire kit, the michelin scorcher 31, that is factory on the wide glide, or the pirelli night dragon. If you go wider than that, it can pull the sidewalls in at an unsafe angle.
I would tend to agree but surely a slightly too wide bike tire is still way better than the car tires that some on here seem to feel are a sensible fitment?

I hear that! The "dark side"..no thanks. I would like to see them try and carve some canyons with a car tire..
The pirelli is a bit skinnier than the dunlop gt502 even though its listed as 180 it probably runs at 165-170mm
I liked the dunlop gt502 as all round reasonable tire, the width is true, it seems to fill the rear fender out better as well, just too dear at about $330 a pop for us in Aus
Thanks

Got a Metzler 170 in the rear no problem over the stock 160. Go Avon or Metzler for good grip/tire wear. Was going to do Pirelli night dragon for the great grip reviews but don't feel like replacing ever 4k-4.5k miles.

From what I've read, the GT502 is the widest of the 180s, when actually mounted on that skinny rim. Mine measures 177 mounted.
Might even be able to fit a 200 in one of the narrow brands, if it ends up being only about 185 when pulled in by that narrow rim. And if you don't mind running a tire that's not spec'd for such a narrow rim.
