I'm having the itch to change things up. But sometimes things are better left alone or untouched...
I'm thinking of painting my tank and fenders this color (off a street bob). My wheels will be black as well. Everything else on my Fat Bob will be the same.
I want some feed back on what you guys think. Ultimately I am going to do whatever I want but would respect some feedback and criticisms.
I wouldnt paint it that color..I just cant get into it myself..I would hit some body shops and look at whats out there. There are hundreds of color combos out there.Unless your dead set id go custom. To be happy its going to take ALOT of brain picking from guys who paint for a living imo.
Good luck
HrdNox is right too though, lots of gorgeous colors out there.
About 6 months ago or so a guy from SF area I think, had his bike repainted cause somebody knocked it over or something? Anyway, he had this gorgeous medium-medium dark gray, monotone, glossy deep, it was killer!
I could easily go for shades of gray like that!
No doubt though, the HD Charcoal Pearl is a looker
Paint! Have some fun. Yes, resale will suffer, but I'd rather have fun with the bike I want rather than save it for the next owner to screw with. Besides, you can always repaint. You won't wreck anything.
You could test out some colors with Plasti-dip first. Easy to use and peel off if you don't like it. No harm to your factory paint. At least you can try a few different colors and drive around with it for awhile and see how you feel before you commit to a pro doing it for real money.
Paint, black is so boring on a bike IMO, and like said if you're going through the trouble, time, and cost of painting make 'er fancy! Although I do love dark charcoal pearl, add some flare
IMO if your going to paint get something outta this world done on it. (I obviously voted hell yeah! but as long as your going to shell out a couple grand why not get something original that screams your soul out to oblivion!
Example if you get a tattoo do want the same one everybody else has? Hell no right your not a sardine can or a box of cereal! You want your paint to be personal.
JMO of course and you will ultimately follow your own mind!
