What kind of oil does everyone use in the Primary, Transmission and motor? I grabbed a QT of Bel Ray for the Tranny (Heard it quiets it down a little) but I didn't want to spend $14/at for Harley oil if I didn't need to! Thanks everyone for the advice. -Jeremy
Mobile 1V twin in the engine, Redline shock proof in the tranny and redline primary oil in the chain box. You will get hundreds of differant opinions on this subject.V
As I've stated previously, the best lubricant for a Harley is sweat from your minions. I realize it's hard to collect in winter, but you just need to make them work that much harder.
There's no good answer for what to use since everyone has different needs and preferences. That debate can go on forever. Just don't feel obligated to buy from the dealer if you are looking at using a different brand. I bought my Redline for the tranny last year from Jeg's. The dealer didn't even offer what I was looking for, and it shipped for free.
I guess this can be like asking the IRS a question regarding the tax code, you will get a different answer from everyone you ask.
myself, use mobil 1 vtwin in engine and primary, redline v twin transmission oil for the gearbox.
