Tips on switching bars
I'm not a mechanic what so ever. But I am pretty good with my hands and not an idiot lol. I ordered the rs 12" z bars and putting them on my 2014 street bob. I currently have the stock 10" mini apes installed. I'm Basically just wondering if anyone had any tips, steps, or problems I might encounter. Thanks!!
search is your friend...

Yeah it's not bad at all really and going to 12 you don't have to buy any cables stock will reach easily. The worst part I would imagine is running the internal wires back in the bars which I avoided by going old school cool external lol and even that won't be difficult.
Thanks to Stres for posting that link. It was my first time doing that, 2014's are much easier, don't need to remove tank and connectors go right through the bars (just make sure to protect them), find some type of leader to put through the bars and then attach the lead with electrical tape to the wire. Some string with a small weight would work well to get through the bars (tip, get the leads done before you mount the bars lol!).
Tool wise it's pretty basic, do you have torque wrenches and service manual?

this is a good way, you can use different variations of this method. remember with a 2014 you SHOULD NOT need to de-pin/ re-pin any connectors YMMV

I just did mine... as these guys are saying, no real tools needed. When I snaked the wires through the bars I used kite string with a nut tied on the end and just let the nut fall down through the bars... then pulled the wires straight through. Worked beautifully.
The one thing I learned (although most setups aren't like this) is that for my risers, the bolts that tighten the bars are on the bottom to give a clean look up top. When the risers are installed, they sat so close to the top clamp I couldn't get an allen wrench in there to tighten the bars down. So I needed to partially install/tighten the bars to the clamps prior to mounting both on the bike then I grinded an allen wrench down to fully tighten. it was a pain, but like I said I haven't seen many cases like this. most risers secure the bars with bolts from the top.
